RNE Path Coordination System (PCS, formerly PATHFINDER)

PCS eLearning

The number of railway experts using RNE tools in general and RNE Path Coordination System (PCS) in particular, is rapidly growing. Moreover, new functions in RNE tools require that users be taught how to use the tools efficiently.
As the capacity for ‘classic’ training sessions for PCS users had become insufficient, a ’virtual classroom’ – based on a standard eLearning methodology – was created by RNE. It is easily accessible for all users via Internet and guides them through all the processes of international path request management and annual timetable preparation. PCS eLearning has been implemented in cooperation with the Graz University of Technology and the system has quickly become the main knowledge resource for the use of PCS.
In addition the ‘Train the Trainer’ concept and the eLearning methodology will be rolled out to the other RNE applications.
