What is Click&Ride?
Click&Ride is a solution for train path booking (Click) to the train ride (Ride) in just a few hours.

RNE is currently developing new international Instant Capacity products for rail freight services. These should enable Infrastructure Managers (IMs)/Allocation Bodies (ABs) to supply and sell products whose response times closely fit market needs for capacity at short notice.

Two different Instant Capacity products

• Pre-arranged train paths
  IMs create harmonised pre-arranged train paths based on general market requirements regarding journey time, stops, load and profiles. Departure and arrival times as well as intermediate stops (e.g. for changing engines) are already known at the time of booking.

• Transport-time paths
  The more flexible transport-time path are not pre-arranged. IMs publish the anticipated transport times between major hubs on a corridor (they provide a range for the train’s running time, not a specific schedule). The RUs may therefore add up the time requirements for the whole journey and the estimated time of arrival of the goods at the end station. The RUs only have to indicate approximately the desired departure time and intermediate stops (including a rough time indication for any related operational activities).
