RNE Charging Information System (CIS, formerly EICIS)

CIS is the European Infrastructure Charging Information System run by RailNetEurope.
This web tool provides fast information on charges related to the use of European rail infrastructure.
Set up as a web-based umbrella for the various national rail infrastructure charging systems, CIS estimates the price for the use of international train paths within minutes, 24 hours a day - all of this free of charge.
CIS calculates charges for:
- train paths,
- station fees
- and shunting fees.
CIS also provides the so-called corridor based approach. The user can choose one of the RNE corridors and calculate the route and price for the particular corridor. Additionally, the system provides the possiblity to exclude line sections in the route in order to find an alternative way throgh the railway infrastructure network.
At the moment the system covers 21 European rail networks and is being enhanced continuously. Around 1200 users from 21 countries are making use of this advanced system with more than 200 routings per day.
